Amy was first drawn to yoga as a teenager while on the way to her dance training when she accidentally stepped into the wrong room and attended a yoga class instead. She was struck by the way the class had made her feel and so continued to discover and learn about the practices of yoga for the next 17 years.
Having had injuries in her early teens, Amy experienced the healing power of yoga and how it allowed her to move beyond perceived limitations. She has been fortunate to have many great teachers over the years including, Krishnaa Devi who was a senior student of B.K.S Iyengar, Swami Saradananda, Elena Voyce PhD and teachers of the Himalayan tradition both in London and in India.
She is a Yoga Alliance 200 hour, British Wheel of Yoga Accredited and Therapeutic Yoga Teacher and has shared this transformational practice with groups in community centres, hospitals, schools, company offices and yoga studios across London and has taught many private one to one students from all walks of life.
She teaches with a strong focus on healthy alignment: Alignment of the body, action, energy, mind and heart which allows for deeper, inner awareness to unfold.
Her asana teaching includes focus on helping students to retrain habitual patterns, release tension and cultivate healthy body usage for the long term, together with compassion and respect for individual needs, so that their yoga journey is safe as well as transformational.
